Torsten Albig visited Pelz for the first time in 2012, when he was Minister President of Schleswig-Holstein. Now serving as Managing Director of Philip Morris International Germany, the former politician advocates for smoke-free products like vaporizers and nicotine pouches. He was surprised to discover that pely-tex, a pelzGROUP subsidiary and key supplier of these products, is located in Germany’s northernmost state.
Philip Morris’ goal is to generate two thirds of its global sales with smoke-free products by 2030. While vaporizers are available throughout Europe, tobacco pouches such as the Swedish snus or the nicotine pouch ZYN are not yet approved in Germany and the EU. Torsten Albig and his team want to change this and open doors in politics for less harmful nicotine consumption.
